producers on the island Krk to form a cooperative, working to add value, by insuring
consistent production techniques.

Danica meats is a division of Podravka, Croatia's 2nd largest food company.
Due to decimated domestic livestock production from war and ongoing
import restrictions, Danica does not have access to adequate inputs to

The economic base of the island Krk relies on tourism and
grape and olive production.
Opatija overlooks the Adriatic Sea and is a popular tourist destination
for many Europeans. Though tourism was diminished during the war,
it is rebounding nicely. Rijeka, the primary port of County
Primorsko-Garanska, can be seen across Kvarner Bay, above.

Export Development Seminar

Apirudi Apsyrtides, a Croatian company that is helping small honey

Istravino is a large Rijeka-based winery and beverage producer currently
transforming from a government controlled entity to a private corporation.
